January 2018 Market Report
The January average sales price is down year over year however we must make note that last year’s sales numbers were unprecedented! Volumes were also down with the number of units that sold were 4,019 vs 5,155 in 2017.
Statistics can always be deceiving. What I am seeing in the market are new listings selling very quickly and many properties are selling over the listed price. Realtors are hesitant having an offer date in some instances so the homes are sold in one to two days on market. The condo market remains frothy and over ask in many instances. If you are a buyer please ensure you have your financing arranged so you are ready to act quickly. Central Toronto remains strong despite the news stories!
